Cantucci – Tuscan almond biscotti cookies Class

Cantucci, or Tuscan almond cookies, is a very popular recipe all across Tuscany. It is made with a few simple ingredients, and butter is replaced by extra virgin olive oil. In Italian, these cookies are also called biscotti, which literally means “cooked twice.” And we’ll do so!

During this class, we’ll start making a simple dough infused with a fresh lemon zest fragrance. We’ll bake the dough whole in the shape of a loaf and once cooked, we’ll slice it into biscotti.

We’ll bake them again, to have cookies that are even more crunchy. Cantucci are perfect to dip in coffee or in Vin Santo, a type of sweet dessert wine we traditionally pair with it in Tuscany. These twice-baked cookies last days, so it makes a perfect homemade Christmas gift or a sweet treat for any other occasion.
