If you’ve been dreaming about Italy lately, I wanted to share a little glimpse into the part of Tuscany that Arnaud and I call home.
We live near Bolgheri, on the Etruscan Coast of Tuscany, just a few kilometers from the Mediterranean. This is the heart of Super Tuscan wine country, where vineyards stretch between the hills and the sea.
But what I love about living here is not only the wine.
Life Between the Hills and the Sea
Our days are spent between medieval villages, vineyards and olive groves, local markets and small producers. We can have a morning cappuccino by the sea, stop at a farmer’s stand on the way home, and end the day around the table with good wine and simple Italian food.
After living here for more than 20 years, these places — and especially the people behind them — have become part of our everyday life.
Five Days in Our Part of Tuscany
A few times each year, Arnaud and I welcome a small group for a five-day Food & Wine Trip in Bolgheri and along the Tuscan Coast.
We cook together in my farmhouse kitchen, visit local wineries and taste the Super Tuscan wines that have made Bolgheri famous, meet local food producers, explore the villages and coastline, and, of course, spend plenty of time around the table.
But what we really want to share are the places and people that have become part of our life here after so many years.
We’re not trying to show you all of Tuscany in five days. We want to show you our part of Tuscany.
