Chocolate “Salami” & Granita di Caffé Class

Loaded with chocolate, this dessert is often made by Italian families for kid’s parties or as a treat served with a good coffee. Chocolate salami has a tricky name: it’s not savoury and meaty, it’s just a delicious crunchy dessert!

During this class, I will share with you this easy-to-make recipe, perfect for the summer as it doesn’t require any baking. It’s a great dessert to prepare in advance. Chocolate salami is a combination of two types of chocolate, biscuits and nuts. You can use any kind of nuts (hazelnuts, almonds, pistachios) or skip them and use just biscuits. Once your salami is shaped, it can be kept in the freezer for up to one month and you can enjoy a slice everyday.

I’ll also share my recipe for granita di caffé with whipped cream. It’s the best accompaniment to serve with your salami on hot summer nights. It’s a keeper, I promise!

Key Ingredients

– cocoa powder and dark chocolate chips or bars
plain Digestive biscuits or animal cookies
– sugar
– almonds, pistachios, or other nuts of choice
