Italian Cooking Class and Wine School is an entertaining and informative adventure that includes a homemade prepared meal and a winemaking experience, both of which you will make yourself!
We’ll start with a hands-on cooking class, and we will create a delicious simple menu that we will cook, savor, and enjoy together. We’ll knead pasta dough from scratch to make fettuccine, with my grandmother’s old-fashioned pasta machine. We’ll unlock some secrets of Italian home cooking and the simple techniques at the base of every great dish.
You’ll also become a winemaker! You’ll learn all the unique expressions of four single varietals from the Bolgheri DOC in an educational tasting, guided by Claudia, my trusted friend, and professional sommelier. From the character of each grape to the nuances they can add to a blend, you’ll gain a greater understanding of their various aromas and flavors. You’ll taste those varietals at first as they are, and then play with them by assembling your own wine, according to your personal taste and style.
Finally, take part in a blind tasting to see which wine stands out in terms of quality, style, and character.
After food and wine are prepared, we’ll enjoy the meal together.
